1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Review My Therapy (“RMT”, formerly Rate My Therapist), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

2. Nature of the Service

RMT is a directory of therapist listings and user-submitted reviews. RMT does not provide medical, psychological, or mental health advice, and does not verify the credentials, licensing, or fitness of any therapist listed. Listings and reviews reflect the opinions of contributors, not RMT.

3. Therapist Listings, Public Information & Removal Requests

Therapist listings on RMT are compiled from publicly available sources — including state licensing boards, public professional directories, practice websites, and information therapists have published about their services — as well as listings submitted by users and by therapists themselves. Listings contain only professional information: name, practice, location, professional contact details, credentials, specialties, and pricing. We do not access non-public records and do not publish personal or private information. Maintaining a directory of professionals using information they have made publicly available in a professional capacity does not violate privacy laws, and a listing on RMT does not require a therapist's permission or account.

Updates and corrections.Therapists may request changes to any part of their listing at any time through the “I'm [your name]” link on the listing or via Feedback. We will review every request and update contact information, pricing, specialties, credentials, location, and similar details so that the listing stays accurate. We encourage therapists to claim their listing and help us keep it current.

Removal. Because listings are built from public professional information and help people find care, we generally do not remove a listing on request alone. We will remove a listing where there are extenuating circumstances, including where the therapist has closed their practice, is no longer licensed or practicing, is not a mental health professional, or has a documented safety concern. Removal decisions are made at our reasonable discretion, and we may ask for supporting information before acting on a request. Removal of a listing does not obligate us to remove reviews that comply with these Terms, which may be retained in anonymised or aggregated form.

Independence of reviews. RMT is independently operated and is not under the control of any therapist, clinic, or employer. We do not solicit reviews on behalf of therapists, therapists do not choose which reviews are published, and reviews on RMT are not testimonials solicited, endorsed, or advertised by the therapist. Professional regulations concerning testimonials restrict therapists from soliciting, controlling, or using reviews as their own advertising; they do not prohibit independent third-party review sites. See, for example, the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario, Professional Practice Standards, Standard 6.2: Advertising (“This rule does not prevent clients or others from reviewing or endorsing registrants (e.g., on third-party internet sites for rating professionals), provided registrants do not request them to do so and provided registrants do not influence which reviews or endorsements are published.”); the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Alberta, Advice to the Profession: Advertising (“Third party websites where physicians have no control over the content (e.g., physician rating websites, Google reviews, etc.) are not considered third party advertising.”); and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, PIPEDA Findings #2020-002 (RateMDs), which found that publishing health-professional reviews and ratings is not generally an inappropriate purpose and recognized the public interest in helping prospective patients make informed decisions.

4. User Accounts

You may sign in using a Google account to submit reviews or vote on content. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activity under it.

5. User-Submitted Content

• You must only submit reviews based on genuine, firsthand experience.
• Content must not be defamatory, harassing, hateful, or knowingly false.
• Content must not include another person's private medical or contact information.
• By submitting content, you grant RMT a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and moderate that content on the site.
• We reserve the right to remove any content, at our discretion, that violates these terms or our Site Guidelines.

6. Prohibited Conduct

• Posting fake reviews, or reviews on behalf of a therapist about themselves.
• Attempting to manipulate reviews through repeated or automated submissions.
• Scraping, reverse-engineering, or interfering with the operation of the site.
• Using the site for any unlawful purpose.

7. No Professional Relationship

Nothing on RMT creates a therapist-client, medical, or professional relationship between you and RMT. If you are in crisis, contact your local emergency services or a crisis hotline immediately.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

RMT is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any listing or review.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, RMT and its operators are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the site, including decisions made based on listings or reviews found here.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
